AMSTERDAM/HOOFDDORP On 1 January 2020, Ocean will take over the digital billboards of Clear Channel Nederland. From that date, Ocean is the new owner of the billboards. It concerns Triple Digital in Rotterdam (A16), the Double Digital in Amsterdam (A5), the Diamond in Waddinxveen (A12) and the Box (formerly known as ‘the Fish’) in Amsterdam (A4). Both parties are satisfied with the result.
This brings the total number of screens operated by Ocean to 283. Ocean’s market share in the Netherlands will thus continue to grow strongly, the portfolio will be further enriched and the position as the largest digital OOH player will once again be strengthened. Clear Channel focuses on the growth of the 2-m² bus shelter size, offering a unique spread of reach in almost 300 municipalities in the Netherlands.
Meindert van den Heuvel, managing director Ocean: “Our ambition is to build a premium portfolio and the largest digital network. By developing new locations ourselves, such as in Utrecht (A2) and Nieuwegein City Plaza recently, by making existing locations digital and through acquisitions. These iconic Randstad locations are an asset to the portfolio and fit seamlessly into our network. We also strive to constantly develop ourselves in other areas, for example, the entire Ocean network can also be purchased programmatically from 1 January.”
It is a logical choice for Clear Channel Nederland: “In this rapidly changing market, we’re also forced to change. That’s why we will focus even more on the 2-m² bus shelter size. In line with this strategy, we’ll be saying goodbye to our digital masts and billboards. We invest in the quality of objects and in strengthening and expanding our uniquely diversified reach. But also in digital, especially in shopping areas, as we are currently doing in the cities of Utrecht and Eindhoven”, says Wierish Debipersad, Commercial Director Clear Channel Nederland.
