Ocean Outdoor Nederland and Big Green Egg celebrate summer with a unique writing competition

Amsterdam, June 2020 – A Six Word Story is a story, told in exactly six words. The challenge lies in that limitation… and yet: anyone can do it! Especially if you have a nice subject. If you look ahead to the coming summer, when almost 17 million Dutch people will go on holiday together (on that very small piece of earth), yes, you’ll have a nice subject.

Ocean Outdoor and Big Green Egg are joining forces, precisely because they have high expectations for the coming summer. They offer the winners a big prize and with good reason: The three best Six Word Stories will be awarded with a placement on Ocean’s billboards, and with a Big Green Egg, the most popular kamado BBQ in the Netherlands. And that could come in very handy, especially this summer.

Amber Eekhout, Big Green Egg: To inspire the Netherlands, Kluun, Ronald Giphart, Özcan Akyol and Stella Bergsma write a number of catchy SixWords. These will then appear on Ocean Outdoor billboards to give the public a bit of a premonition.”

Our writers, chaired by Kluun, will select the best stories from the hundreds of entries. This is going to be a very nice summer, the summer that all Dutch people in the Netherlands go on holiday. And while that may not be the dream holiday for everyone, it’s the best thing that can happen to the Dutch economy. We can’t wait!”
